Qualifications
You do not need to have any special training to be a PCA... at least for me! Just as each individual who relies on PCAs has different needs, each individual looks for or requires different traits that meet their needs.
Here is a rundown on what I need and look for in a PCA:
Minimum Requirements:

At least 18-years-old

Female due to very personal nature of cares
-
Be able to commit to a minimum of 6-9 months
-
Willing to work some major holidays
-
Have a clean Comprehensive Criminal Background (you will be fingerprinted when hired)

Ability to easily, comfortably, independently lift 80lbs multiple times a day

Have a valid Driver's License with a good driving background

Be free of smoke, alcohol and drugs before and during work
-
Willing to follow COVID guidelines and precautions

OK with small dogs
Preferred Qualifications:

Own your own vehicle

Completely smoke and drug-free

Love dogs
-
Interest in health, medical, social work or special education fields
